Formal Education is usually available only for members of the royal family of each nation, before they turn adults at age 18.

Tutoring

When a member of the royal family reaches age 9, it may be tutored by Courtiers or by the leader, if it's of the Scholar type. Tutoring is a mission, requiring the character to have no other active mission or duty (such as being a governor, general, etc.). However, several characters can tutor the same child at one time. Tutoring missions can continue while the child is a student or exploring (explained below). Tutor missions take 3 years to complete and have a basic cost of 200Money.png and 2Orders.png.

The possible outcomes of a tutor mission are an increase in one of the Character Stats or a random event from a dedicated pool. Probabilities for different outcomes are determined by the balance of the tutoring character's stats: a tutor with high wisdom has a better chance of increasing the tutored character's wisdom, for example.

Academic Studies

When a member of the royal family reaches age 12, the leader may choose one of 4 academic fields for it to study. It then gains a boost in one of its Character Stats and begins a 6 years journey to earn its Archetype. While only one character can be a student in a specific field at one time, there is no limit on the number of Exploring characters.
